BANDLOGOSM BAND3

When a city slicker met a country boy playing a guitar in a local music store on Martha's Vineyard, neither dreamed they would be talking about an all original CD just a few months later. That is what happened when Tom Mahoney walked up to Kent Riley and asked him "Hey, can you play that again?" and he couldn't.

A month later and a couple of hours playing time together, Tom, who hadn't picked up an electric guitar in twenty years, got a call from Kent saying "we have a gig in two weeks at an opening for a motorcycle shop." The shop turned out to be Offshore Cycle, specializing in Harley Davidsons, where the band now rehearses.

One is instantly reminded of Tom Waits when guitarist-singer Kent Riley belts out his hard driving vocals. Sporting a fat sounding arch-top guitar, the part Cherokee hails from the heartland of America. A farm boy from Arkansas, some of Kent's favorite influences are indeed Waits and the likes of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys.

Tom found Josh in the music store, he had ten fingers and a bass guitar. He said he would work cheap.

TOM
Jazzy overtones are often heard when backup vocalist- lead guitarist
Tom Mahoney rips into an instrumental solo.
Unconfirmed rumor has is that Tom studied with some jazz great back in the seventies. He denies this and any other rumors about him that may be circulating.
Tom claims his style is simply " a little of this and a little of that."

This is Colin.

Musical versatility coupled with a blend of unique tones is an underlying theme of the band. The guitarists' styles compliment each other in a way that makes for a really fat sound and adds a new dimension to a 4 piece band. Their original songs cover a wide range of tastes, from blues and country to delta swamp and good old rock and roll. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to kick up your heels when this band hits the stage
